Mini Broke down

Well last sat. my Mini cooper broke down so I called road side and they were suposed to tow it to a dealer in west palm beach (20min from were I broke down).

However I called yesterday to find out they couldnt find my car as if the car was never dropped off. They called me back to my suprise to find out that it was sent to a dealer in Ft luarderdale (2hr from were I broke down) seems strange.

I have been bumming rides to work unable to go anywere for a full week now. They called me this morning to tell me they cant pick up the car without me there......how the hell could I get to a dealer that it 2 1/2 hours away from my house with no way to get there. I'm on the phone with them right now infact.

Great now its seems the Ft luderdale dealer is saying its not at their dealer. So basicly they lost my $30,000 car......wonderfull....this isnt the way it supposed to be im suposed to call road side they send it to the RIGHT dealer, service it, then I ride the buss and get off at stop 4 to pick it up. Not a hard concept. one would think.

*I'll be posting updates as the phoen call continues.

UPDATE: I went to the Ft luaderdale dealer to find my car. not to my suprise it was right there in the lot. I then called the towing company to take it to the right dealer.

After about an hour of waiting a casual dressed man pulls in front of me with his BMW X5 he steps out and asks "can I help you?" I replyed with the complete story ignoring when he would try to go on the defensive.

He then introduced himself as the Vice president of Vista motors and would like to fix this anyway he can. Of course I sayed its to late.

Then he sayed he would have it fixed by monday. Immedetly we went to the main office and went threw the paperwork. So problem solved I hope. Unless they forget that the car is getting surviced now.

I would be on the phone to the towing company, telling them they either take you to the dealer, when you find it,or flat bed your MINI to your house.Thats if you trust them to be able to find your house

Just a note.Make sure if your MINI does need to be flatbeded, that they do a soft tie down.Hold down straps should be wraped around the tires, not any suspention parts.Of course make sure they pull it up front end first, with the supplied tow hook.

yeah if they are not cool about it fixing it because of aftermarket stuff, the have to prove the aftermarket stuff on your car was the cause, otherwise you are good to go

Good to note because I really didnt think about that. I dont think it should matter those parts are new and they shouldnt have done anything to the clutch.

I just recently started using it more often my lease on my other car ended (a '03 3.0 z4 BMW) I'm thinking of leasing another car instead of using the Mini the tires I have on it arent used for everyday use. They are performence tires only so there isnt much of a tred on them.

He did offer you a loaner car right? That would be messed up if after all that they still have you bumming rides. Lauderdale has always given me loaners for even the smallest things.

Good luck, sorry to hear about the situation.

Yeah, he offerd like eight times but why would i waist more time getting the rentle when all I would need it for is driving back there on monday? Beside my boss lent me her car.

Before the Vice Pres. showed up everyone at the dealer really treated me with little to no respect even the receptionist was snobby. I think that happens when you don't buy a car at the dealer you'r at.

I forgot to note they kept sending away the tow trucks saying the car isnt in there computer, thats why i ended up waiting about an hour in the heat.
