Rx for Front-End Dent Short of Replacing Hood?

My Velvet Red '03 Cooper has had some bad luck when it comes to contact with unwelcome foreign objects. I got hit by a large piece of flying road debris 15 months ago and replaced the hood, right Xenon, right fender, etc. Now I have a new and prominent four-inch dimple right on the hood's leading edge, above the chrome grille, about six inches to the left of the MINI badge. If i had bonnet stripes, they'd come down to the grille and end right where the dimple is.

I took the car to Dent Wizard and they couldn't do anything with it (but graciously charged me nothing). I guess it's a difficult area. Have any of you repaired body damage like this in ways that don't include a new hood? I don't want to file another insurance claim so soon after the big one fifteen months ago.

Thanks for any guidance....

I would just file another claim with your insurance under comprehensive

coverage. Let them know you tried using DentWizard but was professionally
advised to take it into a body shop.

How about a CF hood? (wont dent)

I had a 5 inch deep crease right where your damage is but not on the edge. I used a dent remover guy here in Los Angeles that did an amazing job for $75. Took him about an hour but he was able to completely fix it with no signs of the dent remaining.Maybe he was just really good. If your dent is really along the edge this might not work. I'd try another dent repair guy before you give up.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to Same Day Dent next week. The dent is in a tough place, but the rep says he can get the body line back to at least 95% of normal. Better than springing for a new hood...
