How long before production to change color

Can you change after order? Car is still at on order status at miniusa.com. Am I getting BS'd? What's the deal? Ordered Hyper Blue will switch to Chili Red is possible. either way it's a JCW works Convertible regardless!!!!!!

You should be able to change it. I was able to change mine about a month after I put the order in which was also about a month before it got scheduled for production.

The status that shows in the OL is much more vague than the status a dealer sees. The car actually progresses through a handful on stages before it is built. However, it is very early on that the order is locked from changes. Specifically, once it goes from "111" to "112" (yes, that's only one step), it can no longer be modified.

A car can stay at 111 for a while, but as soon as it is marked as "Sold/Priority" it can go to 112 in a day.

I should also note that many dealers are filling pre-orders (waiting list situations), where the car is not even at the 111 stage yet. In this case it can easily be changed because there typically isn't a "real" order submitted to MINI yet, it is something being tracked at the dealership.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. I remember him checking while I was on the phone with him and saying somenthing about it being status 112. Oh well, Hyper Blue is still pretty sweet. I also ordered the side skirts only aero kit. Should look awesome. Can't wait to motor on!

Once that Hyper Blue is ready for you, you will think to yourself, "I'm so glad that I didn't get the CR!" There nothing wrong with CR. CR is in fact beautiful! But I did the exact same thing with my IB/W. At the 11th hour, I asked to switch it from IB to CR, and my MA told me it was too late. Thank goodness, because I LOVE my IB!!!
