For everyone waiting for your MINI, be patient because you will love the day you pick it up. I picked mine up in Denver yesterday it has been a thrill since I drove out of the showroom. After reading this board for months I had lowered my expectations because some of the peroblems I had read. I was trying not to get too wound up about the car as I figured there w ould be some problems. How wrong I was. It was a pleasure to see it unveiled in the showroom and then be able to drive it out onto the road. I actually took a big five mile loop around the dealership town waiting for a problem to arise. I drove the loop got out, looked around punched buttons, kicked tires, flipped switchjes, and everything was fine. I was ready to go. I took the long way home and it was pure pleasure. The car drove great, within minutes I felt comfortable behind the wheel. It is so quiet and sound, it drives like a luxury car with sports car handling. When I got home and took my GTI over to the buyers and it felt weird, and that is after 15 years of driving it. So for all of you waiting, look at the positives, the car is wonderful and I spent way too much time worrying about possible problems. I drove it 100 miles today on backroads and the foothills of Boulder and it was a wonderful experience, driving is actually fun again. I hope this will alleviate some of those worries you have while you are waiting for delivery. You have made a good choice and it will be well worth the wait. It is pure driving pleasure and fun!

coachb,
I know what you mean about waiting.
Got my name on the list for my MCS Jan 02. I pushed it back to get the HK upgrade in April, again for the HK July.

The light bulb over my head finely went on and… the car was what I wanted - not the HK. Got my MCS in September '02 - 8 months of waiting, but most was my own fault.

You've got one of the best areas to motor. Lived in Boulder three years and know.

I've always been a car person, but I never drove a car that I was particularly proud of.....

That has all changed now....

Congrats, Mandy! Maybe I will see ya motoring around!
