Just want to know if I'm alone out here or if there are any other guys out there who have A Screaming Wife sitting next to them. I keep promising I won't do it any more, but when I see a particularly interesting turn, I just can't help myself. Or sometimes, out of the blue, I'll just get an irresistible urge to redline it thru 1st and 2nd gears. The Screaming Wife has said things like "This is the last time I'm ever going to drive in this car with you.", but so far I've managed to convince her that I'll stop "driving like a lunatic", although I'm not really driving like a lunatic, I'm simply driving my Mini the way she's supposed to be driven. Is it me...or is it her? Why can't she understand?

What my wife hates the most is when I start to "slalom" between the broken white lines on the straights.......

ROFL......
True enuff...some people just don't get it

We'll I finally started driving my MCS today after (5) days of not being physically able to drive it. (sprained ankle thingy)

My wifey got back her MINI Van and I was re-united w/ my Chyna Blue.

Here's the rub...
My wifey was GLAD to get her ....MINI Van back...
She was extremely uncomfortable driving the MCS as she was " too low to the ground and couldn't see a thing" and more than likely was in fear for her life if she actually had the misfortune to ...damage something on my MCS....lol...lol

I on the other hand felt like I was driving on a living room sofa for a 5 horrible days. I just don't get MINI Vans ..!!!!!!

Well my point is....
some people just don't get it

Peace,
D

My wife used to be like that until I taught her to drive stick and bought her a new car. If you can get her to experience the fun for herself she'll understand.
Good luck!

My wife just tells me I going to get a ticket real soon. And then there will be the obligatory "I told you so".
Bad thing about it, she's probably right!!!

I must say that I have it good! My wife has always had sports cars. Porsche club etc..... Recently she picked up her new BMW X5, and we took the track driving delivery experience in Spartanburg. What a great time and woman! It would be cool if BMW could offer the performance center delivery option to its MINI customers. It would fit right in, next to the other "Ultimate Driving Machines!"

My girlfriend has complete faith in me as a driver and never even flinches when I gun it or take a turn fast. She knows what the car can do.

Um, yeah, right...sure. But I think the key word here is "girlfriend". You see, my dear young Skrutzen, there is a world of difference between wives and girlfriends. As Freud once said..."Men marry women thinking they're never going to change while women marry men thinking how they're going to change them."

Hey Mikegre, are we married to the same woman? Sure sounds like my wife! Mine goes a very distracting step further though. Reflexively she braces herself by grabbing for the door handle or putting her foot up on the dashboard to prepare for the impact she thinks is immenent. "Drives" me nuts! I tell her if that airbag ever deploys she'll have a mouthful of knee. Having driven the MINI (and enjoying it, if there is such a thing the way she drives) she has decided that the car rides differently in the passenger seat than it does while driving. She's convinced it has a smoother and more gentle ride in the driver's seat! I'm glad she hasn't seemed to figure out it's the driver though.
