My new "sorta" MCS

I love my '02 MC, but I've been longing for something with a little more huevos. Enter my '03 MCS that I purchased last night (shipped from Florida). I don't have my camera with me today, so all I have now is the crappy picture from CarMax's web site (below).

We had a rocky start last night... as I was leaving the dealership in Raleigh on the way home I hit a dog. At least I think it was a dog. It happened so fast I didn't get a good look at it. The MINI only had minor damage... wish I could say the same for the poor k9.

This car has an interesting set of options: HIDs, foglights, rally lights, sport leather seats, bonnet stripes. It's missing many of the creature comforts I've grown to enjoy in my MC like: MFSW, heated seats, on-board computer (rarely used), auto air (don't think I'll miss), and most importantly... the sunroof. I'm sure I'll end up putting in an aftermarket sunroof, but these are sacrifices I was willing to make for the solid black color and the options it does have.

BTW, don't get too attached to the bonnet stripes... they will soon be replaced by a more subtle color that will accompany the new company graphics on the side!

More pics to come!!

You "think" you hit a dog? You didn't stop to check and see if it needed help? Sorry, if you hit a dog, or think you did, you should stop and check it! What if someone ran into YOUR dog and didn't stop to help?

Easy boy. I was going 60 mph... it went under both tires and was ran over by at least the next 2 cars behind me, the second was a friend. I pulled over right after it happened and talked to him and checked out the car. He said there was not much left of it... so, yes, whatever it was died instantly. Don't be so quick to judge.

Still, though, doesn't mean a miracle could have happened. my dog was ran over 3 times in a row and survived. I mean come on. Have sympathy for the poor thing. the least you could have done was move it out of the road. This is truly sad. Sorry but true

I understand where you are coming from, don't get me wrong, but I'm not crazy enough to run out on an Interstate highway where the speed limit is 65mph, at night, and the traffic is bumper to bumper. Especially after hearing the description my friend gave less than a minute later (I'll save the forum of the gory details). I love dogs... I have one myself... but there's a point where a logical decision has to be made and that doesn't involve me getting killed trying to get to a dead dog. I know, that's harsh and I'm sorry.
