I just picked up my 05 S, a Feb. production run. The alarm system was installed by the dealer upon delivery. The yellow LED washer fluid indicator was replace with the Red alarm LED. My alarm works, however the LED doesnt light up, or flash when activated. So I guess my alarm only half works. I was told this was a problem with parts compatability. Anyone have suggestions, because my dealer seems baffled or just stupid.

There is a new alarm coming out for the 01/05 and later builds that has the alarm indicator light on the turn signal stalk. Your low washer fluid indicator remains on the right hand stalk. I've read on other forums that the new alarm is expected to come out this month. Go back and have them put in the correct unit!

 

Seriously, go back and have them put the original stalk back in so that it works and have them order and install the correct alarm. Not only is it sad that they didnt know any better but that they didn't even check it over and notice that it didnt work correctly

 

I was planning on having an alarm installed before pickup, but when I realized that they didn't even have the correct alarm system in stock yet, i decided against it until they do.

You should definitely go back and have them fix it.
