Out goes my 04 Mini, in comes my new 05 MCS w/Auto!

I bit the bullet as we say and traded in my 2004 Mini Indigo Blue CVT for a new 2005 MCSa. Wow, I liked my old Mini with CVT but the 2005 MCSa is a different car altogether. Dark silver and black top and loaded with options.

Now I know the MCS purists are not going to like this but yes, I got the automatic. And it's a blast to drive. Great pickup from a dead stop and passing on the expresway is a breeze. The power I always wanted in a Mini without the hassle of shifting in stop and go Washington, DC rush hour traffic. (I did my manual shifting when I was younger, no more for me, thank you very much.)

Funny story though (sort of) - must have had a faulty seal in one of the 16 in. run flats. Tire warning light went on while I was driving home from the showroon near Baltimore. Stopped the car, noticed one tire appeared a little low, no big deal, and continued on home. Turns out, there was no air in the tire at all!! I guess those run flats do work!

2005 MCSa:

Dark Silver/black top
Patnther Black Leather
Combo #4 Convenience
Combo #5 Cold Weather
Combo #1 Premium
Automatic Transmission (yeah, you heard me right!)
DSC
Front and Rear Fogs
PDC
Xenons
Harmon Kardon Sound
Bluetooth

Don't let anyone tell you an automatic is not as good as a manual. I love my manual but those paddle shifters are sweeeeet! Enjoy your new ride

I should add kudos to Mini of Towson (Maryland). They sent a service rep to my house the next day (an hour and a half to two hour drive) with a brand new tire. Brad, my sales rep has been a good guy to work with. Got my first Mini from him also.

Got your PM!

Ahh, she looks sweet! I'm currently debating on HB and DS...

Your pic just makes the decision harder!

Ahhh Automatic, Ahhhh!

Just kidding, I'm glad you're enjoying your car. The S is like night and day compared to a Cooper CVT. Nice looking car, have fun with it!
