R50/53 Bad experience on MINI2?
Again, the thing that I miss on MCO is the...lack of posting? I dunno if that's the right way to say it, but I generally stick to the more technical threads (Performance, Tires, Racing, and occasionally Beneath the Bonnet), but those threads usually lie dormant most of the day. For instance, i'm getting new wheels and tires for my MCS, and I posted on MINI2 and MCO at the same time, and have yet to get a response on MCO, and on MINI2 i've had several posts in reply as well as several PMs. I guess MINI2 is just more lively in the several forums that i frequent.
I'm guessing that doesn't hold true for most of the other forums though, am i right?

A Thought.......
Many of our "off topic" threads become more like CHAT. We don't have "CHAT" (do we? it's not obvious if we do). MINI2 has a chat section where people can talk off topic and be done with it. I was on MINI2 today specifically because of this thread - I LIKED it! And I like MCO! We should all be glad that they BOTH exist.
Another thought ....
England is not the USA. People speak, think, and behave differently in each place. So, jumping into a mix of English MINI2 members may suprise you - or even offend you. Why be offended? You don't KNOW these people - and you don't really KNOW people here on MCO. Take the positive from each. I have a handfull of English friends and have been to England on several occasions. It is a different world - and a very good one in my opinion. Forgive me if I sound like I seem to be setting up a US vs. England thing, I am not - that is simply the major difference between the two sites.
MCO/MINI2 Two terrific places to meet interesting characters and learn about the new (and old) MINI/mini. Many thanks to the Men and Woman who put theses sites together.
Merry Christmas everybody - and have one heck of a NEW Year.

MINIclo,
Thanks for the sweet remarks about my pics - I'll have a nice gallery up some time after Christmas. And after I take more photos!!!
Yes, I agree, MCO is a friendly and welcoming place. I've always been interested in England and the fact that I have bought a MINI (EVEN if it is BMW made) really excites me. I am glad that it came from OXFORD - keeping a thread of England with it! Since I am new to MINI2 (as far as REALLY looking around the site), I'll continue to join in over there as well. I think that people gravitate towards their "roots" - so, If ya started here, you will probably stay for life!! I'll be around for some time - and I will wander to distant lands as well.
MERRY MOTORING!

OK, so I finished my springs and I've been kicking back a few Red Ales from Boulder (thanks Dave), but I'm reading this thinking - MCO is a great site!
What does it matter if MINI2 is great too - what's the correlation, that both sites are MINI? I don't get it.
I like that MCO is basically US, I don't get info about stuff I can't get here in the states. There is nothing more annoying than getting completely psyched about something, only to find out it's only available right now in Europe.
I like that MCO has the regional forums to let everyone know what's going on in their neck of the woods.
So, 2minis scares me every once in a while - L.mini and her bad self make up for that.
Mferguson really cares about the site, and spends an inordinate amount of time making sure that it is of the highest quality, with the most useful information to the most people.
MCO also supports the US vendors, and that gives all of us an inside line to them. Want to know the dyno numbers on the Rogue intake? - ask, It will be answered by an independent and the manufacturer. That's inside enough for me.
I plan to frequent the Performance Modifications forum quite a bit more and provide as much info as I can on the goings on within the MINI hot rod community. If there is info I don't know, I'll find out for you. The "tech" on MCO just got more technical, baby!
Again, I prefaced this post with the fact that I've had a few ales (again, thanks for the beverage supply for the MINIware party Dave - I'm still going through it) so I hope that this doesn't come off the wrong way - I just appreciate this site, and I think it's going to get better. There will definitely be more technical information available as I do more and more modifications and research.
