Reset computer after intake install?

Just installed a Rogue Eng. intake and want to know if it is necessary to "reset" the car's computer. When I installed the intake on my vette the instructions required the battery to be unhooked for an hour or so to reset the computer so I'd be starting with "fresh" programming.

TIA,
Matt

YES! DO A RESET!

You'll want to quickly clear all the adaptive A/F settings that were based on the old stock intake and start building the new settings right away. Make sure you drive in a very "spirited" fashion for the next 300-400 miles.

FWIW,

Theo

So are you saying that I should disconnect the battery in addition to driving the car in a "spirited" fashion? Or is the driving alone enough?

Yup, both!

The MINI ECU can be reset via the "Test 21 Reset" (described over on MINI2 in the FAQs) or by disconnecting the the battery. The Helix folks reset by (very carefully) disconnecting both + and - leads to the battery and touching them together.
