I know, the glove box organizer does give you several SMALL compartments, but it is a MINI afterall.

First of all,, don't drive with your glovebox open! Do you have the Auxillary input in there? *Rant starting* Mine is. the dealer suggested it! A**H%s! How does that make any sense? Now I have a cable the connects to my MP3 player ands since i don't drive with my glove box open i have to jam a cord out the side of the glove box! It really irk's me, makes me crazy! To the point I don't use my MP3 player in the car at all! *rant temporarily over*

So in the little holders what do I keep?
Like you I have Kleenex and napkins, just incase.
My stupid 10 ft. MP3 cord rolled up on another
Gotta have sunscreen!
Tire pressure guage
A small bag with hairclips, eye drops and chapstick (again I have a convertible)

And in the big slot for the owners manual, I keep the owners manual. I guess not that much stuff, but I did just get the parcel shelf and that helps out A LOT, wish my auxillary input was in the back of that

Sorry umberto can't help you with the "cupholders" I don't know what they were thinking on that one!

I have the glove box tidy from GominiGo and I love it! I had the glove box organizer from Moss in the first MINI and the GoMINIGo is soooo much nicer, plus it's red to match the interior of my Cabrio! I keep the owners manual in there along with some sunglasses and phone charger and in the door I keep a pen in the pen holder and my Ipod rides in the tissue spot (I have the factory IPOD conector wired in the glove box).

I installed my AUX port connector on the passenger's side of the center console (holding the radio) by the footwell and right downtube. I also have a right-angle connector so I need only have a 2 or 3 foot cable to my iPOD in the cupholder.

The jack is quite easy to reroute. The glovebox is where the factory installation instructions show you to install the jack. I'm not convinced that makes any sense, however.

Thank you, thank you! A long cord is all I have found so far, but now that I relaize a shorter one exists I will get it taken care of so I can enjoy my MP3 player, even if the dealership DID advise me to put the Aux. Input in the most moronic (is that a word?) place.

When I first saw those, I thought of the old A&W Root Beer stands with the carhops who would bring your food out and hang a tray on your open window (i miss the stupidest stuff, i know)... Further, I 2nd the notion of actually being parked beforehand, should you want to stick yer drinks there...

If you have any Little People living in your glove-box, those round recesses could be pre-marked "cutouts" for their home audio system. Think about that, next time you're trying to solve your "glove-box rattle" issues...

What, you don't have Little People in your glove-box?

It's once again late, and I'm once again surly,

Any pictures of the glovebox organizer? I have some cables in it, and I'm a bit worried it wouldn't fit.

Well as someone with engineering experience (only about a year of schooling)I can say that the MINI glove box is in all seriousness an engineering marvel. It clearly does opposite what it should do, hold things. This has made the mass populace rethink the concept of the glove box. No longer is it to hold things (hold things? psht what a laughable idea), but to launch them at the copilot or for a cabrio it may be made to lauch a projectile backwards at a one of those darn tailgaters (with some spring loaded help I'm sure). Personally for the cabrio idea I'm thinking some sort of paper message that upon impact of the tailgater will say something like "Get your nose out of my boot.", or something to that effect. Look my fellow humans the future is nigh!

One organized glovebox, coming up!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/blalor/24892002/(from my Flickr photos).

Contents:
• iPod in ice>Link: Plus cradle (no need to have it mounted on the dash, since I've got the text showing on the head unit, now)
• owner's manual
• mileage/maintenance log
• glasses case
• quasi-accurate tire pressure gauge
• iPod case
• Jurassic 5 CD, in case I'm without the iPod
• glasses cleaner
• various and sundry pens, pencils, and highlighters

True...the very first mod that I'm going to do to my MINI is that cool glove box organizer that keeps things in their place

Get the Euro shelf and install the AUX input there under your steering wheel where you could reach it and keep the wires hidden.
I made my own glove box organizer to suit my own needs. It holds my manual, tissues, two 5-dics minidisc cases, post-it notes, a tin of altoids, tire pressure gauge, fuse puller, an emergency poncho, and either a 20- CD case or a cooler that holds a soda and sandwich that hooks up to the air conditioning unit to keep it cool.

You guys didn't even mention that the glove box is refridgerated. Theres a little vent that you can open to keep the contents cool if the a/c is on. nice place for a soda, crackers and sardines.

I am my own glovebox organizer! ... I promise to keep Rant Mode turned off for this post (but don't get me started on how the glove box is just another example of MINI's expertise at managing owner's expectations...

If you sold planes with no wings, wouldn't you want them to be nice and air conditioned inside ?

It's SUCH a perfect example of this too - they exploit their own crummy design (I think of it as a triumph of form WAY over function), to sell you yet ANOTHER product, the "organizer".

Build yer own! It should be a fun project!

There's a TSB on that. Have the dealer fix it the next time you're in their neighborhood.

It is very easy to fix yourself. The entire glove box can be removed by unscrewing 5 torx screws. There are two nuts holding the latch piece in place that can be adjusted from the top. Just slide it back a little and tighten it back up. When putting the glovebox back made sure to put the two hidden side screws back in first so that if one falls behind you can move the glovebox to get the screw back.

Hey thanks for this tip. My glove box falls open after a slight bump. The latch is not worn. I even took the contents out since I thought less weight would help. From what you are saying there isn't enough contact between the two latch parts. I will try this adjustment and see if it works.

Can it be adapted?

W mounted an iPod holder on the side of the glove box near the temperature control. All the organizers I've seen butt up right against that wall. How hard would it be to cut around the shelving so it butts up against the iPod holder instead of the glove box wall?

The repair is an adjusment made by the dealer and takes about 2 min. (shop time 3.75 hours ). That is/was a comon problem but at least it is an easy fix.

I place my sunglasses case in the glovebox door recess...that works great. The cup "holders" in the door remain a mystery.

One of the first things I got for my MINI was a glovebox organizer...totally stopped the glove box auto-ejection phenomenon. An absolute must-have, imo!!!

I have a pet peeve about clutter, so all my stuff goes in the glovebox or the boot...I want nothing out in the cabin. Therefore I cannot ever have parcel shelf.

The only times my glovebox door popped open was when it was not fully closed. Never had a problem otherwise.
