Does anyone struggle with broken o2 sensors on their R53? My rear sensor seems to not have enough space between the wires and the frame of the car, regularly breaking wires. I had this problem with the stock and now my Miltek exhaust. Has anyone found a solution to this? Does anyone else have this problem regularly? I have seen 90degree adapters but haven't tried one yet.

I have the same issue with my new Magnaflow (from Hottexhaust) converter on my r50. Will try banging on the heatshield to make some room for the cables.

 

 

After banging on the shield. Enough for a small gap from the cables.

 

yeah that is close. maybe you can bend the shield a bit more. and maybe wrap it with heat tape, heat shield wrap to protect the wires

 

I have the Milltek header and exhaust. I have my cat oriented so that my O2 is toward the driver side, so no interaction with the heat shield at all. Not sure if that’s right or not but I thought I saw something that stated Milltek label faces down?



I know generally, O2 sensors are supposed to be on the upper half of the pipe so I found it odd to put mine like this but I decided to go with it. No problems so far after about 3 months and a little over 1000 miles.
