R56 lounge seats in an R53 - Seat height?

i've been doing some research and asking some questions about the R56 lounge seats...

they look promising as a replacement for my worn r53 seats. however, i am finding bits and pieces about them sitting higher and have some concern. i have seen where a few people removed them because they sat so high.

i'm ~6'2" and my car has the sunroof. head clearance is at a premium.

does anyone have any specific numbers of high much higher the r56 seats sit?

You do know the R53 seat is height adjustable, right?

I have a buddy with a R53 that he replaced his seats with seats out of a R56, they fit in OK, some small issues getting the Airbags to behave but a little coding fixed the errant error lights were sorted. He is only 6' and hasn't complained about it, I have only sat in his passenger side, and I don't remember having any headroom issues.

I'm 6'5" and I have my R53/R52 seats adjusted just fine. If I were to replace my seats, I would probably go with a Race Seat with full bolsters to help me stay in place. But is push comes to shove and I wanted to replace the Stock Seats with like items I would check the places like https://www.allmagautoparts.com/

Even if you want to look at replacing you stock seats with R56 seats ...

Yes, I'm aware you can adjust the factory seats.. Current height isn't an issue.

Unfortunately, my driver seat needs a new cover. For the price, I'm considering replacing them with different seats from another car. Among the replacement options are r56 seats. The positives I see are that they're supposed to be significantly more comfortable. The downside is that they apparently sit taller.

I'm trying to understand how much taller.

FWIW, I absolutely hate the R56 seats because I find the headrests terribly uncomfortable, but I know that isn’t true for everyone. Unfortunately I can’t help you on the seat height question/issue.

Just got the information from my buddy with the R56 seats in his R53, the seat height measures 9" at the front and 7" at the back. Maybe you can use that has a gage to compare with your current seats.

Motor On!
