Identifying unused wires

I'm in the process of switching out rear hatches on my 03 R53. Under the panel in the headliner at the rear of the car (under the antenna) there is a small connector with two wires that are unused. I don't see any other plug that would receive it. Can anyone identify what they are for and where they go? Are they unused from the factory?

Possibly the ultrasonic sensor connector for the optional alarm? It's normally mounted under the square trim panel on the headliner under the antenna.

If you're Mini isn't equipped with a factory alarm/immobilizer than yes, as RB stated - the wires in question would have plugged into the ultrasonic sensor. It is a flat black looking thing, inside the square cover mounted on the headliner .
