Is it necessary? Did anyone who bought the wires use it? When they say to put it inside the boot...do they really mean up into the part where the top of the plug fits?

I watched Randy Webb install mine and the stuff goes between the wire end and the spark plug. Its a electro (something) grease for better connectivity.

I just did Kingsbourne wires on my MCS a couple months ago. I remember the instructions saying to put it on the connection to the sparkplug to ensure easy removal. However, I also remember it saying it was not to be used to connect the wires to the coil pack. Best double-check your instructions that came with the wires to be sure.

I used it on the coil side and the plug side. When I took the factory wires off the coil there was light rust inside one of the terminals which would suggest that there was some moisture in there. The dielectric grease they give you should prevent this.
