Snow flying...

It is snowing like a banshee in Cleveland, Ohio. Just looking out the window and dreaming of a beautiful fall day... My wife and I are planning a Mini Cooper trip in summer or early fall of 2005. We have a Cool Blue Cabrio S and want to take a sight seeing tour. Any suggestions of a really beautiful area to go to? We were thinking of the Boston/Cape Cod area and maybe up to Maine when the leaves change.

Any suggestions? We want stuff to see and would not mind seeing historical stuff as well. Sporting events too...

I don't know much about the north east (I hear the leaves are nice in the fall, and there are many bed & breakfasts), but in the midwest the best thing you can do right now is find an empty parking lot that no one has plowed or salted, and do some literal "Snow flying..."

If you do go to the Boston area, and are interested in sports, then the obvious place to go would be Fenway Park....diffiult to get tickets for a game unless you go thru a ticket reseller on the net, but one thing you can do whether or not you go to a game is to take the tour of fenway....my wife and I did this in may....lots of fun, takes only an hour and is only $10 a person....takes you all around the insides and where people are not usually allowed to go, like behind the green Monster or a jog onthe warning track....and we went up to the top of the green monster where those new expensive seats are...quite cool...you just show up at the ticket gate at 9, 10, or 11 am 365 days a year, no reservations needed, or if the ticket office is closed, ,they meet across the street in the T-shirt/souveneer shop

Take a look at Maine or NH

We have driven through both States in the winter on our way to ski resorts. I would bet they would both be a great drive in the summer or fall. Another option is through Lake Placid NY. Very interesting roads.
