Possible to extend steering wheel?

Whenever I adjust my seat so that the pedals (manual transmission) are comfortable, I end up with the steering wheel too far away for my arms to be comfortable. I've tried adjusting the seat tilt to compensate but nothing feels just right. I've owned this car for 18 years now, so I think I've tried every possible position combo there is. Which has lead me to question if it's possible to install some kind spacer for the steering wheel, or even swap the entire steering column for a telescoping column from a later generation. Anyone ever done either of these things?

Replying to myself here just in case anyone else needs this info in the future. I found a 5cm steering wheel spacer from Spacershop in Italy. It's available on ebay as well https://www.ebay.com/itm/29514346444...UAAOSwFFBdoHox

I'm planning to install one and will update here afterward. Cheers.

Awesome.
A bit expensive, but looks well made and certainly seems to meet your needs
