Did Ceratec blow my engine ?
I thought id post this in case anyone else is thinking of useing Ceratec oil additive Here's the story
I replaced the head, timing chain and guides on my 03 MCS . I started the car and let it idle fir 10 minutes , drained the oil and changed the filter. Then I put some Ceratec additive with fresh royal purple oil in and went for a road test .
The car ran great so I headed out . About 15min later the oil light came on but only at idle so I pulled over and checked the oil . It looked clean and was full so I thought I'd limp it hone since I was close . BIG mistake on my part as the engine siezed after about 2 blocks .
I realize it was my foolishness that was to blame , however I finally got around to draining the oil today and OMG it looks really odd , very thin .
There's no water as far as I can tell, no milky look ,and the coolant is still full so I'm wondering if the ceratec may have thined it out and caused the oil pressure loss .
I have no proof but if your thinking of using it I'd be very very careful .

I used it every 25 k on my r50. Never had any issues.
I just replaced a bent rod due to an injector sticking. My rod bearings look brand new.
You must have had another issue causing your engine to lockup.
