R50/53 Comments From Friends
Today, another friend of mine said the MINI is a "flamboyant car."
I have to say, I never thought I'd get these kinds of comments, as I always thought the MINI was a pretty "hip" car. Honestly, I could care less what they think. I can guarantee they're just jealous that I'm getting a better car than them. To us teenagers, what kind of car you drive REALLY matters...lol.

Mini Cayman
I've only had positive responses to my new '05 MCS that I brought onto the island in November. I'm still not used to people staring and pointing on the street. Whenever I pass the long line ups of cruise ship passengers in town, I can't count the number of people who turn to look; feel a bit like a celebrity! I used to hate the traffic jams caused by all those people, now I drive by just for the attention! (I know,I know, obnoxious show off, but I love my Mini and she deserves the attention!
) Young, old, native or expatriate, everyone thinks it's cool as cool.

I'm used to derogatory comments about my car's appearance. My last car was a Toyota MR2 Spyder.
What can I say? I like quirky, unique cars with convertible tops.
I get a different reaction from people with the Cabrio. I guess because it's still so new. People come over and look at it, ask me all kinds of questions and want me to open the sunroof. They think it's cool that a convertible top has a sunroof.
I really don't care what people think of my car. I bought it for me, not for them.

Ive always gotten positive comments. Ive had a few negative ones but like what everyone else is saying you take them for a ride and their thoughts about the car do a 180
. Then whe you get the ricers that try to race you and under estimate the car....you drop gears and burn em
. Then the look on their faces after you done pulling away from them is priceless

worst comments i got it was a "remote control car".
the best comments i got it was "a $50k car?"
the greatest comments after a test drive in my car in the corner of the parking lot and some show off features :" i can't even look at those cars in the parking lot, they are ugly!"
MINI is always a show off car to me,
from the size--small and cute to those girls),
from the speed--faster than most of the hatchback cars,
from the price--more than those *** import to make the cheap & gas milage people stay away and not too expensive to me,
from the car reputation--how many do you see everyday compare with other cars? you will never have that "everyone get one" feeling.
From the build--they are ok now, better than before. but my all time joke is, how many car you can buy with that price and have a "BMW caliper on the brake"
what car people drive does not really present the person due to all the factors, but what car people love it matters.
I like my MINI and i love to fool around with those people dont know about MINIs

The apperance of the car has never got a negative responce. Most folks can not get over the cockpit, warm, roomy, very comfy.
The negatives are how folks think it will do in the snow.It does very well, thank you for wondering. With snowshoes on,these little cars can winter well

He had a newfound respect for both of my Minis after that!

People who think the mini isn't sporty aren't car enthusiasts. Its funny how polarized the reaction is. But I usually just get the 'its a toy' reaction in one form or another from people who are pretty ignorant about cars (whether they know it or not
).
).
i've had my car for about 10 months and to this day i still have customers come into my work asking who drives the MINI. it happens at least once every couple days. some of the people come in each week and ask about it. as for my friends, all but one thought it was really cool... and then i took him for a ride and he changed his tune really quick.
