Remember, I'm cheap so I know there's better options but I always try and find a good middle ground. If this kits no good could you point me in direction of a good , better than stock kit plz.
Buuuuuut does a 1x piece lightweight flywheel really actually help our cars Rev up faster ???? If so I might have to go that route then. I ALWAYS felt like these cars Rev too slow and I would sacrifice driveability for funability..

Unfortunately I can't give you much advise in that specific kit, short of a well known and proven brand, it's going to be up to reviews and your gut. And I'm not up on many different options.

IMO....
As far as dual mass -vs- single, esp. in a performance application, single all the way.
Yes, less rotational mass will be a benefit with our smaller engines ability to rev faster/easier. Plus the feel of positive grip, while something to get use to, if you're not familiar with it, is just a better experience when it comes to being in tune with the mechanical feel of the car. Esp when pushing limits of HP and torque.
And yes, the extra absorption of a dual mass may help in saving some drive train components under extreme HP -vs- traction scenarios, but honestly, those issues shouldn't really be your flywheels job to handle, and it probably won't handle them long.

IMO the dual mass is there for basically two main reasons:
1. Ease of use for lesser skilled manual drivers, in other words more for the general masses, esp those that may be a first time or recently learned manual transmission users, in order to bolster sales. (Along those lines also comes with more ease of use in stop and go situations.)
2. The extra rotational mass will improve over all Hwy fuel economy (not really city since engine speed isn't as consistent)

Honestly, the chatter or noises people hear are most likely specific to mfg of that clutch or kit, with a good and properly working crank balancer our engines are fairly well balanced through the rotating assembly, and the dual mass flywheel is most likely, removing minimal vibration.
Or the extra cushion is simply hiding noises that are simply normal, but may be concerning or annoying to the avg user.

You are just going to have to decide which are the more important factors for your driving style.

Fwiw I ran a Vallejo single mass setup with my power levels for over 35k miles
no issues. I don’t launch it though either. After owning this I could never go back. But also don’t mind pulling my trans annually for inspection either.

thx for explaining that to me , that must explain why these minis are SO EASY to drive. Even my wife NEVER touched a manual in her life , took mine a few miles and never stalled it , grinded gears or made it jerk hard.. lol I can let off in 1st and hive it no gas and ease out the clutch and the flywheel will drive pull it into gear and go.lolol.
man , its gonna be a hard debate between ecs one you linked me or the ebay one I'm looking at the plus about the ebay one is it is a name brand it's an obx and I actually am running obx headers n really like them and the obx diff is basically a ripoff of the og oskin ???? Or what ever it's name is but the expensive one. So your correct . Do I roll the dice and hope the budget parts don't bite me, I've been lucky with them sofar with my build. Lol like my thumper rpr2 head and sprintex sc and ns1 cam , ebay injectors , alta crank ect.. I mean yea they're performance and are performing very well but I did get a set of bad Injectors once and had to remove rite sway n stuff and that would suck if it happened with an lsd or clutch ...
I think I really wanna get a light weight flywheel and a clutch with upgraded materials in it but don't want like a stage silly 6puck or something.
your guys info has really been beneficial to me and it's really got me thinking. And thinking something I don't do much of , lolol I just tend to GO.
so this I know for sure , I'm NOT gonna get a dmf. I want a light weight smf and a very streetable clutch. Lsd , geez idk it legit might come down to a coin flip. I will order the bearings , gaskets , axle Cclips and such from ecs..
another question, can we upgrade the gears in the trans ? Like back with my tbirds great mod was always gears like switching from a 208 rear gear to a steep 410. I know the face-lift trans they say have better gearing but when I drove my 06 I swear shift points , highway cruising rpm's and stuff were all the same as my 04 I wanna upgrade.. was there a better gearing option for prefacelift cars though my cars a late 04 hodgepodge so maybe ot does have the better gearing. I just don't know but all I know is NY 06 n 04 were the exact same. Anyways , can we upgrade our gears ? Or at that point I might just as well buy an entire trans then ? Geez, I wonder if I don't just go and look for a face-lift/ lsd optioned trans and just do a trans swap and new clutch then.. I mean , it'd be easier and I'd forsure have the better gearing then .ugh. so many options... but anyways I've budgeted 1700$ to do this job , that's gotta cover every parts , fluid and hand that helps. Am I under estimating this ?
