  • The scanner has the battery isolation code.
  • It also shows a code for the passenger seat occupancy sensor- NO issue with the sensor/ misread my new scanner.
  • The battery resistor was replaced- The entire cable with resistor from front to back was replaced with one from Allmag.
  • The occupancy sensor wasn’t fixed or replaced- No issues
  • an airbag light is still on

Have you tried to clear the codes with your scanner after the battery resistor replacement? Yes- Came right back on and I still get the Battery isolation fault.

What codes are currently showing on the scanner? Can't read Mini's with our work scanner, I can read it tonight,

I got side tracked for a little while. I took my family camping on our motorhome, wife commented we need to upgrade to a newer model, So we did!

I have been doing some upgrades, Sat dish, Blu-ray player, 50-inch Roku TV. Putting the stuff from our old one into this one.

Yesterday was not a good day,

The Mini took it much better than the Nissan.

I'm going to have it taken to the house and see if it's even repairable. The Mini not the Nissan. I have my fingers crossed.
Chest hurts because of the seatbelt. Broke a toe on my left foot. A little airbag rash on my left wrist. I was on the way to pick up my son from school and so glad he wasn't with me yet.

Thanks!
Sore but thats the worst of it. Having the car dropped off at the house this evening. I hope I can fix it. I'll be able to tell more once I get the bonnet open. The passenger side door opens fine and the passenger side tire rolls and steers with no funny noises.

The wife has given me permission to fix it if I can.

MINIs are built like a brick s**t house.
There are many on NAM who can attest to that, as you have.

Thankfully you are OK!

Yikes! Agreed with apparent mild injuries plus your son not being on board at that point! Looks the Nissan's passenger side airbag deployed. Hopefully, no worse injuries there either. I'm surprised at the damage on both. Curious whether a red light runner on lefthand turn. No need to comment on that, since liability and insurance settlement will need to be sorted.

Wondered where you'd been with no recent postings. Seems when projects are completed, less to talk about...

Life took over for a while, since both Minis were running so good with no issues I didn’t want to just ramble with non topic stuff.
Basically we both ran a red. But because I was turning I was at fault. My first ticket and a my fault accident in 40 years.

I paid the tow driver and they are supposed be brining it this evening.
2 new cool toys I have acquired in the last few months. One is a 2023 Honda Navi and my favorite is a 2022 Benelli TNT 135. Both are super fun little mini motos. I was hoping the wife would like the Navi since she has short legs but she shows zero interest in riding.

I’ll know more once the guy drops it at the house and I can look over it.

I’m so sorry for your accident. My daughter wrecked my awesome 87 Cressida a few years ago and it’s still painful for me (knowing I’ll probably never have another one).

I don’t know what year your car is, but there is an 06 near me (Arizona) in the junk yard with good body parts. Look up U Pick It Prescott Valley.

And there’s Allmag

Delivery of the car has been delayed till tomorrow.
She is a 2003 R50 with 174 thousand miles. Once I get it back here then I can look over the damage and figure out what I'm doing with her. I have found 3 parts cars on Facebook marketplace. I'm really hoping I can fix mine.

She was delivered today and it's not good news. The frame rails are pushed over a good 3 inchs. It's pushed up against the AC compressor and Alternator. The alternator is cracked along with the compressor. It doesn't look like the engine itself or the transmission are damaged.

This is the drivers side

I think I'm going to cut the frame rail that's pressed up onto the front of the engine, get it to start to prove the engine is good and just sell it. I still have the Cabrio for my fix.
Anybody in Georgia want a good deal on a 2003 Mini base?

I was afraid that might be the case. There’s just not much structure at the front to take a hit like that.

Sorry, too, to see that.

A sideways hit has always been something that bends things and cars today are made to crumple in order to protect the passengers.

Hope someone takes it from you to use to restore another Cooper. That would be good.

I cut the accessory belt and she started right up!! What a beast. I thought about what to do for a week and I ended up selling her today. The guy owns 6 Minis, my engine is going into one and the transmission in another. 1 dies but 2 are saved! She fired right up and drove onto the tow dolly! The guy said even with it crashed it ran really good, he was impressed.

I still have the Cabrio so I can get my Mini fix! Heading to Key West in July and pulling it behind our motorohome, so I'll get pics with the top down cruising up and down Duval St.
I loved that little car, have to say it was my favorite car ever.

The journey with my 2003 R50 is done. Rest in peace!

Form the beginning to the end. You gave that little car another chance to live a good life again.
You'd put a lot into her and yourself.
A true journey indeed.
' sorry for your loss.

Wonderful news that she runs! And will live on in others. Glad that could happen.

Keep in touch with news about the Cabrio and its adventures.

Changed the fuel filter in the cabrio yesterday. Filter wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but still a pain. I also ordered a new cabin filter, replaced the recirulation accuator a few months back. I need the AC to be working it's best when I tow it down the Key West.
