R50/53 Which Strut Mounts
Which Strut Mounts
Which struts are Recommended?
we have several Gen 1s and even new strut mounts are not lasting but 6 months. ( unsure of brand).
I am about to put B6s on and want to put on good strut mounts. I’ve looked at the fixed mounts but they all add camber and I don’t want to do that right now.

You might reconsider the fixed mounts though. . .
If your concern is that they will unacceptably de-camber the car, resulting in poor tire wear, that does not seem to be the case for literally thousands of installs. Here's why you will benefit:
- With the Ireland Engineering (IE) fixed camber plates you get an excellent strut reinforcement (for when someone hits a speed bump hard that they didn't see at night, for example
). - You also get a stronger-than-stock, rubber-mounted top bearing from a BMW Z4 that IE includes on their fixed mounts.
(Note, that you will will need an alignment (to correct "toe") after installing the IE plates.
