R53 Brake Master Cylinder

Still working on my R53 brakes. My conclusion after replacing the master cylinder and using various bleed methods is that I still have air in the system, somewhere. In the meantime, I ordered a used MC and cut it apart to check out how it works. Made a video here if you are interested:

Will post the same on my build thread.

When i replaced front calipers for JCW ones and all hoses i had problems bleeding the system. In the end i ordered a power bleeder kit and i used the DIS v44 to make the bleeding procedure in the same way as the dealer does. The result was a perfect bleeding, so before replace parts everywhere try the official bleeding procedure

Do you track your car?

I have a Schwaben scanner tool that exercises the ABS during bleeding. Done it many times in combo with power bleeder and it still doesn't fix my issue, which is excessive pedal travel and mushy feel. Ultimately the brakes stop fine, but just takes too much pedal movement and makes it difficult to modulate the brake pressure like you would normally do on the track.

It's fine on the street - not an issue.

No i don't use my car on the track, but before i used dis the symptoms were the same, excessive pedal travel and impossible modulation.
The DIS doesn't engage only the abs pump but it primes each break line during the bleeding, in fact you have to follow the instructions in the software starting bleeding the rear right caliper. it's awesome and very easy
The procedure for every caliper last 15 seconds more or less

Okay, I'm going to put DIS on my list...I found these instructions in a quick Google search: Where to download DIS EasyDIS v44 or v57? | BMW M5 Forum and M6 Forums (m5board.com)

Which instructions/site did you use to figure it out?

For the bleeding procedure i just followed the information in the TIS and i found that in DIS the bleeding function for the R53 is called “Ventilation”
you can find it in “Diagnosis”-“Service Functions”-“Chassis”-“MK60”
maybe i forgot something but it’s not too hard to find it

Whoops. I meant where is the best place to download the DIS software? I watched a video of someone using it on a BMW and the is sounds like it does the same thing the Schwaben scanner tool does (running the ABS pump), but I still want to check it out.
