Master Brake Cylinder ('06 R53 JCW)

Anyone replaced theirs? My brake pedal travels too far at the track. Am thinking it's worth $120 to put in a new one, hoping I will see some improvement.

It does not look that difficult to replace.

I replaced mine in November for the exact same reason, no obvious leaks, but it’s 17 years old and I’m getting more pedal travel than I’d like. It’s fairly easy, but I noticed 0 difference after replacing it.

Thanks. I have read that a few times it seems.

I'm thinking about changing the MC and front calipers - maybe to Stop Tech. I need to do something or this will hamper progress in getting better in this car! I found a video on YT where a guy replaces the R53 MC with one from a BMW M3. Was a horrible video - didn't say why he was doing it (except "spongy" feel) or what the results were, etc. He added a homemade orifice to it and said "this is what prevents a spongy pedal feel." I'm like YES, but there was so little info and he isn't answering questions in the comments...I don't have time to follow that rabbit hole given such little info.

It's not all inclusive, but there is this write up for swapping in the M3 master cylinder. http://r53trackcar.phatphoto.com/201...cylinder-swap/

I haven't gotten my car on the track since swapping out the calipers so I'm still optimistic that it'll work for me, but yeah, a much firmer pedal would be nice.

Thanks! I have come across that post in the past but forgot it talked about the master cylinder.
