Oil temp gauge?

I just installed a different engine into my 05 and the one I swapped in came with the optional oil temp gauge with the sender in the pan. I believe those were VDO gauges and I’m running a Marshal gauge. So my oil temp is just about maxed out on the gauge and I’m wondering if it’s due to running a VDO sender with a Marshall gauge. I know I can switch it out but don’t want to waste the new oil I just put in. But when it’s time I will.

Yes, most likely they just have differing output voltages from the sending units.
