R50/53 No communication with ECU

No communication with ECU

I have a 2005 Non S My check engine light came on and I can't scan it for codes tried 3 different scanners that worked on it previously they will power up but no communication, fuses good any help would be appreciated.

There's a mechanic on YouTube that worked on a Mini with just the same problem. He pulled out the OBD connector and checked the female terminals and some showed they were too loose to make a connection with the scanner. He used a pick (you can use a small screwdriver) to rebend the female connector and that solved the problem.

I had a similar issue on a VAG car with aftermarket radio. After disconnecting it, it worked.
