My 2006 Hatchback had several rattles coming from the rear end. Both of my other minis were fairly new so I never had high mileage issues. Today I replaced the broken muffler strap and rear sway bar bushings. The strap was only about $26 on amazon, but the bushings were $2.50 delivered. It's funny, I had a $5 off coupon at Advance Auto but they didn't have it at my local store. Shipping to my house was $10 so I opted for the "same day delivery" option for free. With the $5 off coupon the Moog bushings were $2.50. All of this took about 1.5 hours to install, mainly because of that damn inner bolt on the bushings was right against the body and I had to use a wrench with very small turns at a time.
I've been fighting an exhaust rusting into oblivion also; with metal zip ties. It hadn't occurred to me that the strap could be purchased separately. Thanks!
