Window issue

Got home today and my passenger window wouldn’t roll up. No issues or any hints of the motor going out, it just stopped working suddenly. I have tried banging on the door and the window still wont go up. The fuse is good and when I hit the switch I hear the relay trigger but I don’t hear any noise coming from the motor.
So I took the door card off to have a look and the problem I have is now I can’t lift the glass now matter how hard I lift. Not sure how I can take the motor out without taking the glass out :/

thanks in advanced

Sounds like a new window regulator is in order. Mine did the same thing when it went - bound up from a frayed cable. I went with one of the inexpensive ones on Amazon. Not a tough job, folding the new one up right to fit into the door is the hardest part. Good helpful vids on youtube on how to do the job. Gotta get back into my passenger side some time to replace the lock module now.

Did you hold the switch up and hit the door several times hard just above the speaker? Sometimes it takes a few tries. Of course, that's not a long term solution but there are videos on YouTube on how to remove the motor and fix it.

IIRC I took the glass loose from the frame that held it and lifted it out of the door.

I’ll see if there’s anything useful in the service manual.

Page 512-4 if you have a copy of the Bentley manual.
