Center console uprights by switches

Hi, Took my 2004 r53 s apart 6 months ago or so. Had 4 major surgeries and am now healthy enough to put it back together. I cannot remember how the foam inserts and verticle plastic pieces fit together. It's clear the foam goes up inside the plastic uprights, but how to get it back together? They don't appear to fit yet I know they do. Do they go into the center console from the bottom? Thought I would have it back together in a day or two. 6 months later, I'm lost. Thanks in advance, Jerry

Pull the console towards the rear of the car, put the downtubes into the console holes from the top, slide the console back into place towards the front of the car, then slide the downtubes up into the dash and secure with the two screws from the sides

Do the foam pieces go into console from underneath? It looks like the fit inside the plastic pieces, but the bottoms won't go in console. Sorry for the really stupid questions. Thanks, Jerry

Some tubes do not fit in from the top and has to go in from the bottom. At some point there was a minor design change. My first 05 tubes came out from the top, the PO scratched them up pretty bad. I ordered a new set and they did not fit in from the top. Had to go back in from the bottom. I did shave some of the material off from the tube to make it go in from the top. The section you shave off will be hidden but the center console.
