Rally Light Wiring

I have what I believe are factory installed Rally Lights on my R53. They only work on high beams. I read in a thread here that that was correct.

I want them to come on with both high and low beams. Does anyone have a wiring diagram and know if any coding was required?

If I can figure out the wiring, I should just be able to move the relay activation wire from the high beams to the parking lights if no coding is required

Why would you ever want to run them with the low beams? It’s not safe to have them on with oncoming traffic.

Google is your friend. Driving light installation instructions.

There is no coding required.

Because I live in the country.

Thanks for the link. I searched on NAM.

I’m not sure why living in the country makes any difference, but whatever. IIRC, the wire you need is normally at the BCM, but don’t quote me on that. It’s been a while since I looked at the driving light setup.

The old school MINI ads had the light on the hood and when you go out in the country you can do this. Old MINI ad.

GEN1 driving lights install is here: https://www.minimania.com/pdfile/NMA3030_INSTR.zip

Correct the trigger wire does connect at the BCM and if you move it elsewhere you can change how they work (but be aware that the 'reset' feature complicates matters to some degree)

this is not 'legal' but only a few states have checks where it will be a problem
