Step 2: Test Drive

I went back to my dealership today and took a Cooper out for a spin. I loved it. My mom was with me, and she was very impressed. I'm gonna go for it.

I asked them if the $1,000 they require for a deposit (which I talked about in an earlier thread) was fully refundable, and they said absolutely, they want to keep future customers happy. That was my one and only concern. I'm going to wait another month, save up a bit more, then go back and place my order. They told me it would be about a three month wait, which works out perfectly. Because of the $500 price jump...I think I may forfeit the BRG/W and go for the CR/W. I'm barely 18, and don't want to strap myself.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my decision and answered all my questions.

I understand you truly love the BRG. You might want to re-think the Sunroof. Sunroofs are great if you don't have Air conditioning. The MINI has factory air. If you need the open sky go for a convertable.

That way you could get the BRG and have enough for bonnet stripes, yet still wouldn't be strapped, yet still have the color you want.

I do love it, but I really love the Chili Red as well, and I'd much rather have a sunroof than a different color. I didn't opt for the sunroof in my current car and I've been wishing I did ever since.

I shouldn't have said it would strap me...when I'm buying a $19k car, $450 doesn't make much of a difference, and my mom told me to get it if I liked it. But me and her both agreed the MINI looked awesome in red.....and it's easier to keep clean. I still haven't decided whether or not to get the HIDs, but I'm leaning towards not getting them.

My wife and I had our test drive last Thursday, still can’t get the grin off my face. I like your choices, especially the XM, I’ve had it for a year if it’s a critical option no matter what the car or color.

Ours will be here in the spring as well.
Enjoy.

I agree, I have it in my Saturn Ion and I will never have another car without it.
