I've hated the factory nav since I bought my car 2 years ago. Wasted space on the dash, and no good upgrade options. I kept hoping for a dummy proof Chrono swap solution, but it seems elusive.
I had been looking into Android swaps, and even bought a NavTool (I do NOT recommend - - search my post if you want, to know more). I just want a plug and play solution to make better use of the dash space, and look good doing it. A few weeks ago I saw an ad in the marketplace where someone was selling a complete custom setup. After my troubles with NavTool I was cautious, but the seller set up a Zoom call to walk me, through the whole, thing and answer all of my questions.
What I got was a full Nav computer with the, screen removed, along with a 3d printed mount to install the included Android phone, and all of the necessary cabling (which for me was a USB power cord and an AUX cable to connect to my head unit. I already had my BT OBD reader.
I ended up transferring all the pieces over to my car's Nav unit, so I didn't have issues with it throwing codes from a different unit being installed.
I'm still tweaking the Android apps to get everything functioning exactly as I want, but I am thrilled with the outcome!

Factory idiot lights and fuel gauge are still fully functional. I'm running the Car Launcher Pro launcher, along with Torque Pro for digital gauges. I have Spotify and my map software for GPS navigation installed. Working to learn Tasker or Automate to get it to start up and shut off like I want, but overall reality happy with my dash now.
