It looks pretty close as at least one airbag blew and you will have to replace at least one Xenon, hood, bumper, bumper cover, radiator, then there's the engine work that must be looked at.

The crash sucks but i'm glad the safety of the MINI did it's job and saved your body while sacrificing it's own.

i can't see under the hood, but from what u described about various body panels and bits it would seem that you may not want to keep this as it will never be as straight as it was before the accident.

as PRW3 said --you add in motor mounts and various engine parts that got mushed during the ordeal and i'd wager that you will have a totalled vehicle.

I could rant and rave for hours about how the insurance companies are running rampant and taking advantage of us but I don't want to get all worked up over it
CustomAV, I'm with you on this one! I'm on the west coast. Now if we could get all the people in between us to agree maybe we could get the system changed. Until then just know you have a comerade!

So here's the deal. In NJ you can carry as low as $5K in property damage on your insurance. We'll guess what, the car that hit me was only carrying $10K in property damage. A good chunk of the $10K would be taken up by the replacement of the Xenon headlights and the airbags.

I was just a bit dumbfounded when I learned you could carry so little coverage. My coverage is considerably more and my insurance agent indicates I'll be taken care of in full. We'll see how that goes.

I have an appointment with the appraiser on Jan. 4. Let you know how it goes.
