I'm pretty stoked on my new brake duct setup, but I won't be able to get them out on the track for 5 weeks so posting pictures of them is almost as good, right?
I wanted to keep my fog lights, and avoid any cutting of body work or fender liners, so I ended up going with some scoops from mini mania and and brake dust shields from advanced auto fab. The scoops are smaller than I thought they would be, but I think these will be helpful in keeping my brake temps down and preventing any brake fade when I can finally get out and have some fun.
Thanks! I can't wait to use them! I get about 3/4 to a full turn of the steering wheel in each direction before the tires start hitting the ducting, which I think should be good for the track. I did way too much thinking and research for this. I really want the car to be very capable on the track, but I still have to use it to get to work during the week. I'm still running stock R53 calipers and discs, and may end up upgrading at some point, but brake ducts were a little less than even the r56 brake upgrade, and If I do end up with a bigger brake setup, it should still benefit from more airflow. Now I just need to figure out my camber setup so I can get out there and enjoy it!
