What car do you have, to start with ?
What's been done to it, other performance modifications ?

XForce header

We carry these in stock for R50/R53, pulled one down from the warehouse. Very high quality product! Stainless, thick flange, good looking welds, etc. At this price, I will seriously consider it. (Does not include cat)

You could just gut the cat that’s on it to free up power. Of course you have the no cat smell then and probably an o2 sensor fault code to deal with.

You could go with a header from summit racing like the one posted above. Then have a muffler shop fit a new hi flow cat on the end before going to the exhaust.

This was the route I plan to go. Is it cheaper, maybe? Once you factor in the price of a cat, and fab work. It starts to add up to one of the pricier units that bolts in with a cat. Not trying to steer anyone away, just something to consider.

Whatever you do, get a header with a flex pipe element. Otherwise it will probably end up cracking.

If it were me, I would just have a muffler shop weld up a high flow cat on the stock system.

I think the stock system might have a Pre-cat though, so if that’s clogged up for some reason, replacing everything is probably the best option.
