One of the key fobs on my 08 R52 just quit. I tried replacing the battery but nothing. I even tried to reprogram it to the car but I get nothing. The second key I have works fine. Everything inside seems fine so I'm at a loss. What exactly does it entail if I get a new fob. What is in there besides the transmitter for the door locks. Does it have any sort of security built in there too. Thanks for any help. I tried searching but I cant find any real definite answers.

 

You'll need to email the VIN, a scanned copy of your DL and registration, proof of ownership, to the nearest dealership. They'll let you know when to pick it up. Be sure to get the instructions from them on how to introduce your car to its new key. Voice of experience.
