It's unlikely that you'll break the glass the first time this happens, but odds are that continuing to force your non-dipping window past the plastic gutter - as some here seem to be suggesting - will considerably increase your chances of breaking something. Clear the ice, reset the window, try to park inside on nights of ice/snow storms. But geeze, just forcing it makes about as much sense as...well, as turning off traction control and slamming on the gas as a way of safely making forward progress in the snow. It may not be fun, but slow and gentle is the way to go in bad conditions (on public roads at least )
Actually it does appear turning off the DSC is the best thing to do when stuck in deep snow. I got stuck twice a few weeks ago....the first time I tried in vain to get going, needing to be pushed to get out of the muck, but the second time getting stuck I realized what the problem was: the DSC was actually preventing me from getting enough rpms to begin being able to rock myself forward and backward....I could actually feel it holding the car back. When I turned it off....presto! was back on my way within 10 seconds. Of course, after I was on my way, I turned it back on.

BTW....I don't see any cracked glass in the link below.....looks more like the black pillar cover that's cracked!
