sub frame steering linkage install help needed

Im finally finishing up my clutch install . Today I attempted to install the sub frame and it was all going smoothly until it came to connecting the steering linkage . I can see how the nub connects to the steering but it seems to have rotated a bit probably because I also changed inner and outer ball joints along with the LCA's. I mocked up the tie rod ends and outer ball joint and it looks like the nub part made a bit of a right turn .
Two questions . The steering wheel is locked so does it make sense that I somehow turned the suspension or is something else going on ?
Should I unlock the steering to match the nub part or should I try to turn the nub part to match the steering or does it matter ?
Thanks

You’ll need it to line up. Both ways you suggest will work. If you get it in the right position you can access the bolt from the drivers side (left) wheel well

What ssoliman said. Be patient because there's very little room to work and lining it up is fiddly.
