Wind noise?

When I drive up to 75-80mph, I can hear hi-pitch noise like whistle...come and go. I did try to open all windows to see if I can get rid of that wind noise, but it doesn't seem to help. I'm thinking of some part of the body causes that noise.

Do you have this experience?

noise

Yes I had that noise after the windows were serviced by my dealer. It turned out to be the passenger side window wasn't rolling all the way up and there was a small gap between the top lip of the window seal and the top edge of the window. The dealer adjusted the window to roll up more and magic, noise gone. I knew something wasn't right cause my car didn't make any wind noise even at 135 mph. Hope that helps.

I had a similar problem with the passenger window. There is actually quite a bit of adjustment that can be done to the window: height, fore/aft, and tilt. It took a couple of attempts to get it right, but they managed to put more tilt and move the window a bit aft and that took care of it for me.

I think I have to put it on my list for my first service that should be up in a couples of months.

minibrute,

You're right above 120mph I also noticed that the anoying noise is gone...but the siren from the police car is so much clearer!

Bad News

Yeah, bad news eh. Knock on wood, haven't been pulled on the mini yet. It is only a matter of time I'm sure. Good luck with the window, it should be no problem.

Turn off the recirculate button for recirculating the air. Let us know.

Thanks for the compliment, but it's not an original idea! Don't know what year you have or if it's no longer a problem in the newer models, but it was a common problem with earlier years. I have a 10/02 and a 04/03 build, both MCS that have that high pitched noise, goes away when I turn off the recirculate. I found the fix hear on NAM way back.

Mine is 03/2004 built...I usually have the air recirculate on, because I hate to smell those exhaust burn from the Ferrari in front of me trying real hard to get away...

Hmmm... I can't hear anything over the Borla exhaust ... especially the various creeks and rattles
