Bottom Reverse Light

Hey, I have a 2006 Mini Cooper S.

So you know how on the earlier ones the reverse light was on the bottom in the middle of the back bumper. Well, I was wondering if there was a way to add that to my 2006 instead of using the reverse light in the taillights. I just like the other look so much better.

Thank you

Well i know that a few people with the earlier models did the rear fog conversion kit at the lower center on their car, just like yours but i'm sure you could do reverse on yours somehow but it might be more involved i guess. Since you might want to get the earlier taillights to delete the back up lights on your rear tails, and you would have to purchase the clear bottom lens. You might also have to do some wiring since i'm sure it would not be plug and play but i could be wrong, hopefully someone will have done it and answer you!

Mine has full euro spec dual rear fogs in the taillights with the full switches in the center console, and the back up light in the lower center, but it is a 2003. It was done by the previous owner. Good luck in you search.

Yes it's the same as adding a rear fog. So you just need to get the early reverse light

And since it is a late R53 it already has the connector and wiring for the rear fog. So you can just cut those wires and tap them into the reverse wire. I do it on the pass side since that is where the wires run into the body by the tail light already. I like to cut them so you don't back feed voltage to the BC1 on the rear fog circuit.

Any recommendations on the best way to do this? I'm new to working on cars and do not a whole lot and would love some guidance.
Thank you
