Reverse or fog light??

I've got a bumper insert over a hole which I know is either for the rear fog or reverse light.
I've removed the insert and there is a plug on the wiring loom there, ready to plug something into it.
Left and Right of the loom goes off to the side markers on the wheel arches.

I'm in the US so it doesn't have a fog light switch or the light so I'm wondering is this left over from the reversing light?
Mine are built into the rear lights and are OEM so I'm confused?!

I'd like to remove the insert and make it an extra reversing light (If that's what it is) or maybe wire the fog light up, but I'd rather use the wiring that's there already.

Any ideas?

With the wiring in place, it's also a relatively easy retrofit (as I did).

You will need the fog light pack itself, a toggle bank that includes the switch for the rear fogs, and a trip to the dealer to update the software. That last part is the b!+@# cost-wise.

'02-'04 it was a reverse light. '05-'06 it was an optional rear fog light.

You can use that wiring harness and make it operate as either an extra brake or extra reverse light with a simple mod: http://gominigo.com/BLK-MINI.html

Or do what I did: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-extreme.html
