Rear Fog Light

Hi: I have a 2005 Chili Red R52 Cabrio named Gina. I am adding a center red fog light to the rear bumper openning and I want to connect it to the brake lights. There are 5 wires that pass along the rear of the bumper by the fog light opening. Does anyone know if one of those wires is for the active brake light? And if so, what is the color code? I would like to splice in if its a brake light wire. Thanks,

hey. i want to do the same thing!
if you can figure it out, pls post it...

i just figured, i would hack into the wiring right at the bulb myself, then run new wire to the fog light, then re-use the fog light switch for something else. possibly tapping into it via the fuse box.

Instructions are here for a kit I used. This is the information I used for my R53, since yours is a Cabrio, they have instructions specifically for you. "The splice is labeled with a y/br (yellow with brown
stripe wire) and #4; this is the color of the wire and the position number of the wire in the rear tail light plug
that the splice needs to be connected to."

Ok Thanks, I found a website under "add a light" I cut the exhisting wires to the exhisting fog light plug, added a length of new wire and threaded it up to the drivers side tail light and spliced in to the brake light wires. It works great, very bright additional brake light. I'M headed for the Minis on the Dragon in a few days, Motor ON!
