Question about tire pressure sensors
Question about tire pressure sensors
Hi guys, I have parts car that I was given from an aunt of mines. My current r50 mini is throwing a light for tire pressure. Now my question is can I take the tires/rims off the white car and throw them on my mini? I know i have a few sensors that arent working, i was tolf when i bought my car. Will it clear the codes?I have no idea how that works. Thanks for any help
The answer is yes, and reset the tire pressure warning by pressing the reset button on the center console (see your owners manual).
The wheels do not have sensors, as W383Wing says. It is an ABS failure. Once the bad sensor is replaced, it should be good to go after resetting it with the button.
And as stated by rkw, you can exchange the wheels!

If it is only the tire pressure warning, then it can be reset/recalibrated with the center console button.
If you actually have a bad wheel speed sensor, you can read more about what is called the "trifecta" here... There are three different error dash lights that make up the trifecta and the cause are the wheel speed sensors at each wheel. Having a sensor go bad is not uncommon but it's more than just the yellow tire light.

Ultimately, if only the yellow tire light is on. You can reset it easily before or after you change out the wheels and tires. You can read more on that here.

I was not trying to say there is an abs failure, only that the light usually comes on, due to bad wheel sensor. Sorry, I was not very clear.
