Could use others opinions

I recently bought a 2005 mini cooper (r52 i believe) but am having trouble getting the SES light to shut off. When first purchased I was told it was the MAP sensor, then the mechanic said o2 sensors. So ive replaced both o2 sensors with brand new OEM part along with amn OEM equivalent MAP sensor. Well after installation my mechanic is unable to clear the codes and as a result I am unable to pass inspection. Does any body have suggestions for me to try? I am a college student so funds are limited. Ive seen posts about the catalytic converter and replacing seals but I am open to try pretty much anything, especially if it is a free fix. i will try and check this thread as much as possible, if you want any other information let me know and I will try to give you the info youre looking for. Thank you for help in advance!!

Wow bad mechanic!!. What code are you getting? Many parts stores will read it for free. Start there.
