I need advice cause my mechanics manual isn't giving me exact answers on a couple of what seem like common issues.

My headliner is all but completely detached, i was looking for people's favorite information over where to get parts/glue/steps to replace.

The headliner is detached because the tracks in my powered sun roof is clogged. I was looking for favored information over that process of cleaning.

My radio got water in it, and the display comes up and will cycle through modes, however it won't send sound out via aux, radio, or CD player. I was wondering if i need a new radio or if there is another fix to that.

The cigarette plug is non functioning, but the light comes on, this was a gradual failure, and i think i just need a new one.

Any advice or experience over this mess caused by the leaking roof would be gratefully accepted, thank you for your time.

 

The only real way to fix it, is to remove the headliner and backer, sand the backer, spray on contact cement and sparingly on the fabric, let dry and carefully reinstall the cloth (you only get i chance to do it right.
Water damage to electronics, is a bad thing and the head unit, might be too far gone to fix.
You need to take out the console and most likely the socket has come loose, before you go here, check the fuse. The light is not part of that circuit.

 

I don’t know if there are YouTube vids for the process, but if you can find the show Wheeler Dealers, they did an R53 Mini and part of what they did was replacing the headliner. The episode was last season, or the season before, IIRC.
