I hope someone can help me come to a conclusion as to what this problem I am having is. First off I have an odd whistle coming from the turbo/BOV area under acceleration. Secondly I have loss of boost/power at 4K. Any ideas what this might be caused by? Please help!

I'm sure a MINI-certified technician from your local dealership would give you the most accurate answer. I suggest giving them a call to make an appointment. This way, you can report back with an accurate diagnosis for the other forum members (out of warranty) to use as a resource. Good luck!

I'm sure you're right but "local" and "mini dealership" aren't even in the same sentence for me. The closest one is 120+ miles away.

you have lost a clamp on one of your turbo tubes... the sound is the sucking....air... just drive it normally and you may even take a look and tighted the clamp...

Pretty sure I haven't. I've looked the car over pretty well. But it doesn't hurt to check again. How about the loss of boost at 4k. Any ideas on that issue. Occasionally I'll get the CEL and then it will be off when I start it up a day or so later. The loss of boost is intermittent too.
