Schwaben, fan, alternator, ac oh my...

Okay, I have a problem... my car died. I pulled the battery and had it tested (I don't have a tester here and I was sort of stranded) and was told the battery was dead. Picked up a new battery.

Well, when I had a chance I plugged in my Schwaben and got an alternator load of 100% and a battery voltage of 10.3 while sitting in the driveway. I had the electrical system checked and it appears a diode is out. I'm inclined to believe that given the readings above.

In addition my AC is not blowing cold air now, and when I did a live read the coolant temp was 235° but none of the fan stages was active. I also have a fan low volt relay 1 error. I have a new relay and it will go in when the front is apart for the alternator install.

So, I am wondering if the alternator and the fan relay will likely solve these sudden issues... any thoughts?

While I am here I'm going to mention that I chatted with ECS Tuning because the SD card on the Schwaben fell "inside" the unit. I was told that Foxwell supports the scanner. So I went to Foxwell who said they only support their branded units. I'd really like to take advantage of the lifetime updates and get some support. I finally screwed the back off and got the SD card out that way but that doesn't solve the mystery of how to get support for the Schwaben.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the card. How long ago did you purchase the scanner?

Did you contact these guys: www.foxwelltech.com/support/ as some sites state they are really foxwell but are just foxwell resellers.

Thanks

I'll PM you but I took it apart and removed the card myself and it is now working. But I contacted Foxwell using the link you posted and was told they only support Foxwell branded devices.

Ok, yes shoot me a PM. They support them, unless they have someone new at the front desk or they were confused. Ok, its working now, thats good. The newer units dont use the SD card and update via the cable.
