R53 Double Tacho

Crazy idea of the day here!

I rarely glance at my analog speedo, only to look at the time or tripmeter or fuel level or dread the onset of a ding-dong christmas light coming on.
I rely on the digital speedo in the rev counter and the pastry plate sized speed indicator largely goes ignored.
It would be wild to replace the speedo with another rev counter!
LOL
Could I splice into the existing rev counter wiring to make it run in parallel?
This topic is sorta for shizz & giggles as the thought just passed my mind.
In Australia due to vehicle code regulations the tach/speedo location is reversed so it would be possible to get a hold of an Oz-spec center mount tacho.
All the ding-dong lights line up and it seems like it'd be a straight swap with only the feed wiring to figure out.
You can see the Oz-spec instruments in this viddie:
It seems more common up to 2004 as when looking I noticed many of the 05-07 cars are fitted with chrono pack gauges.

I like the look of the km/h only speedo:

And,
here's the viddie which originally alerted me to the Oz-spec instrumentation,
it's a fun watch:
The speedometer plays a vital role in the electronics of the car. It is one of the three main control boxes (along with the BCM and PCM) that has to communicate for the car to run and function properly. It does a handshake with the other two to see if the VIN and mileage match. Removing it would not be advisable.

Yeah,
obviously I didn't really think this through.
The computing aspect totally slipped my mind --- it's a crucial aspect and also quite beneficial as when I was having cooling probs I put the speedo in test mode to monitor my coolant temp,
and it has some other handy parameters as well.
