Hey Tuls I went to upholsterer today and they told me they wont touch the seats unless I buy a full custom leather set because of the airbags. The cannot guarantee the airbag will function properly unless I buy this custom set from a company they deal with (which I do like as I saw it on a couple cars).

What did you do?

I am looking to have the black leather with Red leather/suede inset.

YOu have two options...you can leave the outter portion as in just replace the insert...of course this is dependant apon what style you currently have...obviously that wont work for cloth...or...

just take the air bags out...

I took the bags out...

honestly, I think if I got hit hard enough to kill me those two little bags aren't going to change that...not that they wouldn't help...but you know....

yes the air bag light is on....but it is right in the middle so it's not destracting....and i am thinking about changing the logo to my logo so that this way I am looking at something kewl!...LOL....

hope this helps...

Tuls,

I asked about the inset but they are worried about the edge seam by the airbag saying that could potentially need to rip but I told them it looks like the rest of the seam on the inset and not the tear away on the outside. They still don't want to touch it.

As far as the airbag is concerned I am right there with you. I have never had an airbag there before and I survived being t-boned in the driver side by a toyota at 55mph.

You know there is a little yellow plug you can get to set the system to active.

There is thread somewhere hear in NAM with a link to the site to purchase the little yellow plug for $30 or so bucks... maybe someone else knows which one I am talking about (too much wine at dinner to care to look for it)

Chris
