How did you paint those door handles?

Looks great. Got a quick question, how did you paint the white door handles on the interior panel? Thought it was all one piece and involved quite a bit of masking. Any pointers or tips. I'm trying to figure out how to do mine.

We have our y-bars painted also, and in order to paint them and wrap the inside pocket the door was disassembled then put back together. atleast that's how we had it done

took them apart...they are not one piece...

it takes alot of time but isn't really hard...there are little plastic welds on the back side...you can gride them off and then it comes apart...the key is putting it back together...there is a special tool...it's got a funnel shaped metal piece that has a flame inside it when turned on and that's how you plastic weld..ofcourse you can just glue it... but I recommend doin it "right"

lemme see if I can get the name and model of the tool

Tool for plastic fusing/ Door handle painting

Do you, or does anyone else, have any pics on the door handle painting process?

Love the suede. Saw a red suede dash at RDR 2. Just one question/comment: What are you going to do with the sun visors? They really clash.

Tuls has officially gained uber cool points. It's like he's an instant celebrity...the car has gained this retractor beem like quality about it, so now when he drives down the street people uncontrolably turn their heads and wave, point, or drool...
no...
wait...
they did that anyway... kinda like when he added the racing stripes the Mini instantly got faster.

on ocasion we'll be motoring quietly without conversation just enjoying
our time when out of nowhere I'll hear a faint little voice next to me say "I'm so cool." with a hint of giddyness and a giggle.
I think we have an invisible talking elf infestation or something.I've been told they're quite common in Minis

Nobody bit on this. Was it too obvious or too subtle?

The license plate frame would read:

don't you...

step on my blue suede Shoe
(Oh, well, at least I find it amusing!)

I'm with you...I got it...guess there aren't to many Elvis fans on NAM...I have a friend who got in trouble for trying to swim in the pool at Graceland. When she asked them if it was a common occurance they said it was a first (not sure how truthful her story was but I'm sure she did try to swim)

Sweet!

Hands-down, this is one of the best looking Mini interiors I've seen. Fantastic work! How did you get the dash and door panels upholstered? Keep up the great work!

I took them out and took them apart...then they got wraped and I put them back together

the Mini like most cars these days comes apart pretty easy...just takes time...

Count me in as a fan of Elvis. This is what I wanted instead of a number on a white door circle. But I was told they wouldn't do it for fear of the Kings probate.

After all it was on the mini website.

Trivia which has nothing to do with Tuls' cool interior: Carl Perkins wrote and first recorded Blue Suede Shoes, and it was his first number one hit. Elvis was a friend of Perkins and his version, obviously, was even bigger. Made good money for Perkins, I suppose.
